Welcome to the 2009 4th Annual
Professional Longarm Yellowbook
It’s time to finish your quilt tops!
How many quilt tops do you have tucked away, waiting to be quilted? You know, those unfinished masterpieces aren’t really quilts until they are quilted. To finish a quilt yourself, you have several options. The most common are hand quilting and machine quilting.
Hand quilting is the process of using a needle and thread to bind the layers together. You simply sew a running type stitch by hand across the entire area to be quilted.

Why contact a longarm quilter? |
Janet-Lee Santeusanio |
Professional machine quilting provides several benefits for you. Many people thoroughly enjoy making quilt tops. Quilters spend hours and hours researching quilt patterns, fabric and color selection. Sometimes special tools, templates, and notions are used in the completion of a quilt top. Careful thought and preparation goes into each quilt top for that special someone. Barely a top is completed when the creative juices want to plan the next project for the next special occasion. Rather than have another incomplete quilt, team with a longarm quilter to complement your work and make your quilt top a quilt for many generations to come.

So, You Think This is Easy?
A Machine Quilter’s Perspective
As we watch the Olympics we see mega-athletes make their sport look amazingly easy. Runners, bicyclists and swimmers…yeah, we can do that! What we rarely see and cannot appreciate are the behind the scenes sacrifices, dedication and training necessary to get them to that skill level. In our day-to-day lives, we come across many professionals that have dedicated their lives to be the best they can be at their particular career. FULL STORY

Quilting Designs, the Perfect Fit
I don’t know if there really is the perfect quilting design for a certain quilt. I have viewed some stunning quilts that sure seem to have the perfect designs! Others; however, seem to lack the creativity to really make the quilt come alive. For some quilters deciding on the quilting design can cause a creative dunce cap to suddenly appear on their head! No two quilts are the same; therefore, the journey of choosing the quilting design may not be either. FULL STORY |
An Idea Whose Time Has Come
Victor Hugo said, “There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world, an idea whose time has come.” Longarm quilting is here and although it has been a struggle convincing people that we are not “cheaters” simply because we have eagerly embraced new available technology, it has been one heck of a ride. It has so immensely changed my life! And I have watched in awe as I have seen most of my family and friends’ lives change as dramatically as mine -- all for the better. FULL STORY |

What? No Ribbon?
Isn’t it great to enter a quilt show? It isn’t a small accomplishment to meet a deadline, create a work of beauty and then to throw oneself open to the criticism of judges and fellow quilters. Of course a ribbon is never guaranteed and you may already feel like you have won by having entered; right? Let me tell you my story.....
I recently entered a large regional show in New England. I was feeling pretty full of myself thinking, “Of course I’ll win a ribbon.” FULL STORY
