Now Available: 2nd Annual Professional Longarm Yellowbook

The Sewing Dealers Trade Association, publisher of the SQE Professional magazine, introduced its 2nd annual longarm directory, the Professional Longarm Yellowbook (PLY B), in October 2006 during International Quilt Market.

The PLYB, which was established as a quilt piecer’s resource guide to machine quilters, identifies professional longarm quilters across the USA and Canada state by state. The entries are organized within each state alphabetically by city. The contact information in each entry generally includes company name, owner’s name, address, phone, fax, e-mail address and Web site. Some entries were edited via request of the longarm professional.

Throughout the PLYB, there are also advertisements by the Yellowbook sponsors. Perhaps through these sources, quilters will find the products and services they need to complete their next quilting project and further develop their love of quilting.

In addition to the hard copy version of the 2007 PLYB, there is also an online version via the Web. The online PLYB can be accessed through the following Web sites:

Entries online are divided into five regions. You simply click on the map to view listings organized by state. Online Yellowbook entries will be updated throughout 2007 to reflect any changes that longarm professionals may have in their contact information.

The Sewing Dealers Trade Association, headquartered in Des Moines, IA, is an association dedicated to the success of independent sewing, quilting and embroidery retailers worldwide.

Shops in these industry categories who regularly receive SQE Professional have received a Yellowbook for use in their store. Each longarm professional listed in the PLYB was also given books to hand out in their individual areas.

In 2007, copies of the PLYB will be distributed at various industry shows and events.
